Have you seen it? I never thought I'd like it, but recently I've had some trouble with my TV aerial so I ended up buying the first series of 24, and now I'm onto series three. So far I feel like it can be a bit hit and miss. There's the standard American cheesiness (no offence intended) to get past, which is fine, but I also think that the twists can either be amazing or they can be so twisty that they don't quite work. I do prefer something like The Wire, more gritty and realistic, but that won't stop me from binge-watching every series of 24 over the next few weeks

I never watched it. So you are on season three? There was also a revival of it recently, several years after it first ended. They are about to do a spinoff of sorts, but with no Keifer Sutherland. I wonder what the standard British cheesiness would be. I need to start watching British television.

I can only think of British cheesiness in terms of comedy, I reckon it would be characterised by old school stuff like Fawlty Towers. Although we do often have really rubbish sitcoms as well, but they end up being quite similar to American stuff...
