Don't Have to Write a Novel to be Known as an Author

Any writer who has been published is considered an author. There's seasonal writers, part-time writers, and full -time writers. But for the ones who have published on online magazines, journals, and published books. They've set a record and if they're working to stay on first pages of "search engines" then they're taking writing seriously. If an author wants to gain exposure then it's quite helpful to try to maintain the first page of popular search engines such as "Google." Making it on Bing and Yahoo is nice as well. Promoting is important. Without the promotion many authors wouldn't gain a high rating. In order to become an Award Winning Author one must promote and advertise or hire an agency to do so. In order to be considered an author one must receive such status from a publishing company, an online writing site, or have published a book which can include a book of poetry. Even publishing in a local news paper is considered being an author. A lot of writers are or will eventually become authors.

And many do not realize that they are professional writers because they are being paid. If you are being paid, someone must think what you are writing is worth reading.

I have been a writer for a long period of time, however, no way would I consider myself an author.

I'm working on my first book of poetry. Hopefully, it will be published in the New Year. Then, perhaps, I might consider myself an author. Maybe a humble one.

I have written some articles on online writing sites. I'm looking for a publisher to publish my first book of poetry. I hope, some day I'll be considered an author.
