Believe it or not, there are quite a few songs with the time of day in the title. Which brings us to #8 in my Favorite "Time of Day" Songs series: Cheap Trick's "Clock Strikes Ten."
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's Cheap Trick formed in 1973 in Rockford, Illinois, and are pretty much the most successful power pop band in the history of the genre. Over the years, the band has performed over 5000 concerts. Cheap Trick is still going strong, albeit without original drummer Bun E. Carlos.
(Fun Wikipedia Fact: In Illinois, April 1st is Cheap Trick Day!)
From their 1977 album In Color (which is a really good record,) "Clock Strikes Ten" has been a concert staple for years. Released as a single in Japan, the song hit #1 there.
Cheap Trick is one of the best live bands I've ever seen, and "Clock Strikes Ten" is a big reason for that. Simply put, they rock the hell out of it.
Enjoy!

I never thought of Cheap Trick as a power pop band. They were always sorta quirky. Nielson was wacky. God, I remember first hearing them in the late 70s. Didn't know Ben E Carlos was no longer with them.

Yeah, he sued them, they counter sued. Oddly, they still consider him part of the band, even though he doesn't participate.

That'll shock the people who only know "The Flame," won't it?
BTW, I was in boot camp with a woman from Chicago who was in an all-girl band that used to play around the area with Cheap Trick.
We're all all right, we're all all right.....

@teamfreak16 -- glad to be in the minority with you. Those FM rock band power ballads (which I blame REO Speedwagon for starting with "Can't Fight This Feeling") were horrid. Every last one of them.

@FourWalls - And of course they were obliged to play it both times I saw them.

I just never liked "The Flame." Judging how many people do like it, I think I'm in the minority.

Their first four albums are great. At Budakon is a classic live album.

A lot of bands are hitting the casino circuit these days. I think they are a great live band!
