The Mumps has broken out in Dallas according to the most recent breaking news.

My wife just told me that about 17 students have come down with mumps. They are fearful that there may be an epidemic. Those who have not received vaccinations have to stay home for 26 days to ride out their illness because the disease is so contagious. More below:
Health officials are investigating a suspected outbreak of mumps in Dallas and Johnson counties.

This is i nsane for parents not to get t heir kids the shots that would have protected them from those very contagious children's diseases

I had Mumps way back when I was around 5 years of age. Could I get it again or have I built up an immunity?

I and many people my age had mumps as kids. Mine was no big deal, though I know there can be complications.

I'd quite forgotten about mumps, one of those things just waiting to burst out when you think everything is okay
