Day 87 Proverbs 13:20 Proverbs 13:20 He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. In school, you call them clicks. Only certain people qualify to be part of those groups. They are also known as the ‘in’ crowd. Most people want to be part of the ‘in’ crowd. There are also the others who don’t qualify for any crowd and don’t want to be associated with the high and mighty ‘in’ crowd. Then there are those nobody wants to associate with – the bad crowd. That crowd consists of those who sit in detention, get suspended for several days, and even drop out of school or are expelled. As people leave their school lives behind, their clicks follow them. The ‘in’ crowd moves in the higher ranks of society, being seen in all the right places at all the right times, having the best jobs and getting promotions on a regular basis. Those not in the ‘in’ crowd sit on the outer fringe of society, usually have good jobs, with decent incomes, but rarely move up to ‘in’ crowd status, though people in the ‘in’ crowd do recognize the achievements made by the those who never obtained ‘in’ crowd status. However, everyone knows those who never achieved anything but trouble and jail time and stay away from them because even being mildly associated with anyone in that group spells suicide to their reputations. Solomon knew who were in each group of people and narrowed it down to two groups, the wise and the foolish. Wise people followed the Law of Moses and were well received by everyone. While fools didn’t adhere to any laws, God’s, or man’s, and soon found themselves not only on the outside, but destroyed by their lifestyle. When God sent his Son, Jesus, into the world, society was again divided into believers and non-believers. Believers, or Christians as they are known today, accepted the finished work of the cross, and followed closely the teachings of their Savior and Lord. Of those early Christians, thirteen select men began the church by going into all the world and preaching the gospel to everyone who would listen. They did the work of the ministry and passed on their legacy to future generations until we come to today where the whole world knows about God’s plan to send a Savior to redeem the world and everyone who accepts Jesus is saved and anyone who rejects the finished work of the cross is destroyed. Which group do you belong to – the wise or the foolish, the saved or unsaved? Have you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord or have you denied him, rejecting him and the finished work of the cross for your salvation. When Israel came out of Egypt and crossed the Jordan into the Promised Land, Joshua gave the people a choice. Joshua 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. (KJV) It’s a simple choice, one every person eventually makes. Let’s pray: Father, help me be wise in the decisions I make. Help me serve you in sincerity and truth, putting away everything that hinders my relationship with you. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. @just4him Hopefully I'm getting out of the foolish group. Though, I do believe foolish people often thinks they are the smart ones... per proverb: "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice." Definitely, I didn't do advice for a long time :)

@Drosophila I don't think I've done a post on that proverb yet. I'm well aware of it. People do tend to think they are always right, even when they are wrong.

Yes, the world is full of temptations and we must pray for the strength and wisdom to resist.
