Day 1's theme is favorite book turned movie, and for me personally this is a hard one for me. There are a lot of books that have been turned into movies that aren't very good- but likewise there are several that are very very good.
For me it is a toss up between "Paper Towns" and "The Nanny Diaries". These are both books that I have read not once, not twice but several times. They for the most part stayed true to the book, and followed story line just like they should of. Paper Towns probably gets more points because the cast fits the character's just perfectly. To me both books and likewise both movies are about finding yourself and in the end remaining ture to yourself.
I recommend reading both "Paper Towns" by John Green and "The Nanny Diaries" which I am completely blanking on the author, and then watching the movies or rewatching them if you have already seen them.

Well, a series of books into a series of movies: The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. Frankly, I was disappointed with the tinkering, particularly in "The Hobbit," but overall, I enjoyed the movies. I read the book about half a dozen times between the ages of 15 and 25.
