One of the best ever occupies the #3 spot in my Favorite Avalanche Players series: center Joe Sakic.
Longtime team Captain Joe Sakic played 21 years in the NHL, all with the Quebec Nordiques-Colorado Avalanche franchise. As such, he holds the franchise records for most goals, assists, points, and games played. He won two Stanley Cups with the Avalanche, and won the Conn Smythe Trophy (most valuable player in the playoffs) in 1996. He played in 13 All Star games, and is in both the Hockey Hall of Fame and the Canada Sports Hall of Fame. His #19 jersey hangs from the rafters in the Pepsi Center, where the Avalanche play.
Sakic played 870 games for the Avalanche, scoring 391 goals (Avalanche only, this does not include Quebec.)
A great player and a class act.
The video made by the NHL deticated to possibly one of the greatest players of all time. We will all miss you Super Joe!!! 1988-2009 It's sad that my favorit...

Colorado has had a lot of good players through out the years. When is the last time they won the whole thing because Joe Sakic was a great leader for them.

You could say he's the franchise best player. I used to do fantasy hockey years ago and Sakic was good to have.

I was never able to draft Sakic for my team. He always went early, and since I was in the playoffs most of the time, I always drafted low.
