Scary Rock Video Soundgarden Black Hole Sun

The video for this great song from 1994 contains some great surreal apocalyptic imagery. From shots of the band playing on a hillside the action moves through TV broadcasts by an end of the World preacher which are ignored by the people of a suburban town. However, these people are monstrous and depraved. A child roasts her Barbie doll on the BBQ, a sunbathing woman catches flies with her tongue, a vain man fails to notice his wife loves the dog more than him. The camera fixes in on their grotesquely exaggerated faces as our own Sun turns into a black hole that slowly swallows up everything, including the musicians though they seem unscathed in the final seconds of the video. Couldn't add the Youtube video here as Mylot's filters find a swearword in its URL's random jumble of letters - doh! Arthur Chappell

Know the song well. A 90s grunge classic. Chris Cornell on vocals.

Looks like the Black hole swallowed up the video and the swearwords from the jumbled letters of the URL. What a funny coincidence. I do love that song again now that the radio hardly plays it anymore and MTV does not play music anymore. When it first came out, that is the only song you ever heard.
