The Washington Nationals on Wednesday have traded right handed pitchers Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez and Dane Dunning to the Chicago White Sox in exchange for outfielder Adam Eaton.
Eaton, 28, has played in the Major Leagues as an outfielder with the Arizona Diamondbacks from 2012-2013 and the Chicago White Sox from 2014-2016.
The Nationals gave up three minor league pitchers to acquire Eaton to join the Nationals who will enter the 2017 Major League Baseball season as the defending National League East Division champions.
Giolito, Lopez and Dunning were future pitching stars for the Nationals that will now be trying to make it to the Major Leagues in the Chicago White Sox minor league system in 2017.
With Eaton on the Nationals roster, the chances of Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen are now history.

I question this trade for the Nats. The Sox are blowing up the team and harvesting prospects. Eaton isn't that great to surrender 3 top notch prospects especially pitchers.

I guess the Nats were desperate for an outfielder since McCutchen is out of their price range.
