“The Hoover Dam Is A Stargate”

It all started with a debate that turned into a fight. No, it wasn't about stargates or time travel portals but rather the “flat earth” theory. Laugh if you want, the “flat earthers” are pretty serious about the subject and back it up with a lot of answers. Well, that is until you ask them how the oceans have movement / tides, how floods happen, earthquakes and underground volcanoes. But that's a different topic. I think everyone has daydreamed about going back in time to change something or leaping into the future to get the winning lottery numbers. There are people who believe that portals do exist and they are powered by a magnetic force; I loved the movie Stargate but I have a hard time swallowing the concept that portals to another world exist. No matter what you call it – wormhole, portal, stargate, star door, there are people that firmly believe the gateways are real. Why is this such a hot topic? Think back to the Salem Witch Trials; when people couldn't explain things (disease, poor crops etc) they had to have someone or something to blame. The Aurora Borealis is often cited that the dancing colors come and go through stargates. Likewise, the portals are located everywhere. Then there's the unexplained underwater monolithic structures discovered at the bottom of Lake Michigan that is considered an ancient portal. Sometimes the lines of fact and fiction come so close to overlapping that its hard to see past the rumor and theory surrounding something that can't be explained. Portals or stargates don't always lead to another world, some believe that there are “gates to hell”. Oddly enough, one of the ones that's most talked about is only a few hours from where I live. Ahh yes, Hellam, PA (York County). A lot of fake “found footage” has been floating around the internet but none of it provides any proof of a gateway or portal. Time travel, whether through a portal or Star Trekish transporter, has always fascinated people. Look anywhere on the internet and you'll see “time travelers” posts of old photos with modern devices (cell phones) or contemporary clothing. When I was little my brother told me I could go back in time if I could spin clockwise fast enough. I started spinning and after about two minutes I had to stop; my head was throbbing, I had a nosebleed and I was covered in dust and dirt. Did I travel through time? Where the two minutes I spent spinning actually hours spent somewhere else? Unless the Hoover Dam has a blowout or starts to crumble we'll never know what's hidden at the bottom, what the carved pieces represent and if it holds the key to other worlds. I think that, theoretically, both time travel and wormholes are possible. Actually, time travel is more than theoretically possible, it's a fact. We do it every day. I'm already in yesterday's future! Gates to Hell; has someone been playing Doom? (And I have a friend who is now a flat earther - YouTube is not necessarily a good source of facts.)

I agree with questioning the validity f things posted on YouTube - The gates to hell ... think about it ... if the earth is flat then where is hell? Someone is going to be offended so I figured - go balls out and deal with the comments on Twitter

@freak369 The whole concept of a flat Earth started to fall to pieces the first time someone went south of the Equator. Or into a significantly different time zone.
