The Chicago Cubs who are the defending World Series Champions on Thursday have reached a contract agreement with 41 year old right handed relief pitcher Koji Uehara.
The details of the agreement were not disclosed by the Cubs management. Uehara will be the set up relief pitcher for the Cubs during the 2017 Major League Baseball season since newly acquired right handed relief pitcher Wade Davis will be the closer for the Cubs.
Uehara has pitched as a relief pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles from 2009=2011, the Texas Rangers from 2011-2012 and the Boston Red Sox from 2013-2016 before he reached an agreement with the Cubs on Thursday.

I am a long time Cub fan, born and raised in Chicago, I sure hope they know what they are doing signing a pitcher that old.

Me too since Uehara cannot pitch on two days straight anymore.
