Music Genres

I used to say I was into alternative music, but then I went through a phase of being just a metalhead. Now I've reached that point in my life where I've realized that I really don't care what people think of my taste in music anymore. I listen to everything from rap (limited artists that I like), to metal, to indie, to pop.
Do you have a favourite genre? Or do sort of just listen to a little bit of everything?

I love music whatever the genre is. The important thing to me is the lyrics of the song. I listen most of the time, and the genre that i choose to listen is depend upon my mood.

The lyrics are definitely the most important part of it for me too, but sometimes the melody speaks louder than the words.

@RiggsMortis yeah, when you first heard the song, the first one that will caught your attention is the melody then follow the lyrics.

I don't have a favorite, never have. I love my pop music, I love my rock music, metal, jazz, musicals, just everything. I love a bit of everything. I have my favorite bands of course. I never cared what people thought of my music tastes haha I just love music and it means a lot to me.

The only thing I really can't do is country (with a few exceptions, of course) and I absolutely cannot stand the sound of bluegrass music. It's like nails on a chalkboard to me :S

@RiggsMortis I like country that is like 90s and prior. old fashion country is great. bluegrass is one of those "acquired tastes" situations haha!

@DesirousDreamer I guess I can see that. Country all just sound the same to me. Unfortunately bluegrass is part of a super scarring portion of my past so I doubt I'll ever even be able to tolerate it xD
