So today I had a fascinating conversation with a handyman that was referred to me to work on one of my rental properties. It was evident that he has a drug addiction and the drugs have a strong hold on his life. But in spite of it all he is a very smart and knowledgeable individual. He is able to do home rehabs, vehicle mechanics, computer technician etc... He can even repair all home appliances including phones, radios and TVs. He is a true jack of all trays and master of none. What I don't understand is how can some people be so smart and still allow themselves to be bonded by drugs. They prefer to be poverty-stricken then to leave the drugs and excel in life. Lastly, is it just me or has someone else noticed that these type of people are usually smarter than the average person?
