Now, here is someone who totally disagrees with Jimmy Connors quote about gaining experience and then being too old to put it to use.
First of all, who is George Eliot? HER real name was Mary Ann Evans. She was a British writer who wrote under the pen name of George Eliot, for various reasons.
She said: “It is never too late to become what you might have been.”

George Eliot is quite famous as author of The Mill on the Floss and Middlemarch.

Yes, these are mentioned in her biography. I've never read any of her writings so I will see if I can find any of them on my next trip to the library.
