Being on a budget and an environmentalist, I try to think "outside of the box" to finish my projects. In the case of projects that need stuffing (like pillows, tiny mattresses for doll beds) I use dryer lint. If dumpster diving isn't illegal in your area, that is a good source of supplies like pieces of wood.

I'm gluing dryer lint to a wooden frame and am going to cover it with fabric to it to make it a padded decorative frame for my niece.

Yeah, I guess I'm a rare breed. LOL! I was a child of the 1970's in the USA, the environment was a big deal back then. They even had public service commercials on TV about pollution and littering. Anyone remember the crying native American (In those days, Native Americans were commonly called "Indians") commercial?

If you have a washing machine in your home and put dryer lint in a bag, who's the wiser? If your landlord questions it when they are in your apartment, say it's for the trash.
