As soon as December starts groups of children around our place will start their Christmas caroling. My father is sometimes angry at them if they don't sing well. My father closed the window and one of the child shouted while singing. I'm happy to hear them singing but they don't practice so their singing is actually bad and the lyrics of the song are sometimes wrong. Some children do it every night. I just gave them 2 pesos and they don't come back again because I gave them small money. My parents said not to give them anything because they will keep coming back. I want to give them at least 5 pesos. Are you annoyed sometimes by carolers asking for money? I'll give them more if they really sound good.

here it usually starts tonight, dec. 16, but there was a group last night. i don't give anything until it's the 21st onwards. yes, it's disappointing how some of them behave. the lyrics are wrong and out of tune, some are shouting, demanding. some are arguing or horsing around, some are playing with the doorbell. when it gets too much, i go out and scold them. are those kids in the picture your nieces/nephew?

I don't think carolers should ask for money. If it is offered - good, if not then accept that in the spirit of the season.

Even if they come for money they are spreading good news.
