with the new movie "The Nativity" coming up, it brings the question of how Jesus was really born. Many different account have been made about the date and the actual happenings of that day. Here's a clip from a website: http://www.worldofchristmas.net/actual-christ-birth.html Many Biblical scholars have argued from time to time that December 25th was not the actual birth date of Christ. It was just adopted as a day to celebrate the birth of Christ as a Christian substitute to the Roman festival Saturnalia in the third century. Saturnalia was celebrated as the Feast of Sun and was actually considered the birth date of the Sun God of the Romans. Catholic priests held a special mass that day for Christ and thus, it came to be known as 'Christ-mass' or 'Christmas'. Along with the date, several other pagan traditions, rituals and customs followed the way to become associated with Christmas such as decorating fir trees and burning yule logs. According to these scholars, Christ was most probably born on September 11, 3 B.C., which was Wednesday, according to the Bible. There are several other inaccuracies that we can see in the Nativity plays that are popular these days.... Visit the site for the rest of the proof... Whats your take on this and is it logical? Do you believe in it? I think that it is logical, and I'm willing to look into it. I'm a christian myself, but there are were always a few questions that I have. Now don't doubt me, I'm not doubting the fact that he was born. I just think we as man got it a little wrong, and the doings of the Church itself adopting the dates and certian practices just to bring in more people (and more money) its not something to unimaginable. I don't doubt God or Jesus, just the 'men' who have run the Church, sometimes you just get the message wrong.

you know this has been a struggling topic for me for years.. not that Jesus was born but the whole celebration of pagan mass itself,,, i mean christmas .. I dont really agree with celebrating this holiday at all but Its a hard thing to fight against being the roman catholic church has drilled it into everyones brains the customs and traditions of the pagans that if we use them to celebrate Jesus its ok... God said NO IT IS NOT DO NOT WORSHIP ME WITH THE RITUALS AND TRADITIONS OF PAGANS... that is what is written in the bible...soo now because the roman church said it was ok the whole world picked it up and accepted this garbage... I say if God says no dont then we shouldnt do it no matter who or what church says its so ... I do recall the bible also stating that if any other come and preach another gospel weather it be an angel from heaven let them be accursed. So to God he dont care who said it ..He has the final say. heres a good place to read... http://jesus-is-lord.com/christm3.htm

The birth of Jesus was likely in the spring time, not September 11. The Bible does not address the date at all, and not mention is made of 9/11 in the Scriptures. Nor was the birth celebrated by the early Christians. They celebrated his resurrection.
