We're at #4 in my Favorite Lakers Players series, and that designation belongs to the legendary Kareem Abdul - Jabbar. The NBA's all time leading scorer, Kareem Abdul - Jabbar played 20 seasons in the NBA, 14 of which were with the Lakers. During that time, Kareem was a five time NBA Champion, a one time NBA Finals MVP, a three time NBA MVP, both the Blocks and Rebound leader (once each,) and an All Star more times than I can count. He is in both the Basketball and College Basketball Halls of Fame, is, according to Wikipedia, a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. And lest you forget, he was in both the Bruce Lee movie Game of Death, and the comedy classic, Airplane! During his time with the Lakers, Kareem scored 24,176 points, pulled down 10,279 rebounds, and blocked 2,694 shots. Kareem was an integral part of the Showtime Lakers of the 1980's. He was very methodical, relying mainly on his unstoppable skyhook shot. Showtime would not have been the same without him. I'm lucky to have seen him play.

Kareem! His sky hook was unstoppable. I imagine his career would have been different if he hadn't moved to Los Angeles.

@teamfreak16 big basketball market in Los Angeles compared to Milwaukee so he was in the spotlight more often. Hollywood made it easier for Kareem to be more popular outside of the sporting world.
