@JohnRoberts has been speculating about #2 in my Favorite Lakers Players series, and he was right: small forward James Worthy.
Nicknamed "Big Game James," James Worthy played 12 seasons in the NBA, all of them with the Los Angeles Lakers. During his career, Worthy was a three time NBA Champion (NBA Finals Most Valuable Player in 1988,) a seven time All Star, and was named to the NBA All Rookie Team. He is on the NBA 50th Anniversary All Time Team, and is in both the Basketball and College Basketball Halls of Fame. His #42 is retired by the Lakers.
Worthy finished his career with 33,643 points, 4,708 rebounds, and 1,041 steals.
In many ways, James Worthy is my favorite player. He was fast, he was able to score with either hand, and he always came through in big games. Hell, when New Balance put out the Worthy high top model shoe, I bought a pair within the first week. If that's not love for a player, I don't know what is.
Lakers Nation counts down James Worthy's top 5 moments in Lakers history, including his most clutch moments against the Boston Celtics. Join the Largest Lake...

Gosh, I can't imagine who your #1 will be! Just think that starting lineup of Magic, Worthy, Kareem, Green and Scott with Rambis, McAdoo and Thompson on the bench would slaughter any LeBron team and the Warriors.

I got to see Showtime against the Denver Nuggets. That was a fun game. It was the only time I got to see Magic and Kareem. I saw Worthy a few times.

My favorite NBA player is not Jordan or Kobe. . . Bugsy Bogs was my favorite - - He was like a mouse running thru between the long legs of Shaq!
