You Can Purchase a Back Up of Yourself Via Bitcoin!

I came across this crazy idea earlier. Apparently a company will take your DNA and store it for you in exchange for bitcoin. Is this the gateway into immortality? The site is called genecoin if you would like to look it up and learn more. It seems an odd fit for the two to come together in that way? Why hadn't someone thought of it with regular currency before? I kind of feel a pang of uncertainty though, what will they do with my DNA? I mean, it could potentially be placed at murderous crime scenes and I'd be doing life. I think I will pass.

I love Bitcoin but I don't understand the DNA thing I don't need it. I only use Bitcoin because it is the CHEAPEST and FASTEST way to send/receive funds. PayPal charges are quite high in the Philippines ($5/withdraw to card) that's why I prefer Bitcoin. I cannot see any dark side of Bitcoin like what other people think it is. In the Philippines, we can no longer exchange Bitcoin to local currency if our Bitcoin Wallet account is not "SELFIE VERIFIED". Maybe it was different years ago (not stringent). Bitcoin, just like any fiat currencies can be used for good or bad.

Yes just like any currency you can decide where to spread it around. Bitcoin has been rising for months in a row now. That's why I am liking it now. Also because I don't currently have a bank account but with Bitcoin that doesn't matter.

@jhechorain YES! I always buy Bitcoin with PayPal so I could transfer my online earnings to my sister's bank account because my plastic visa debit card linked to PayPal has expired and the bank is quite far from home so I am lazy to renew it I just linked E-Coin/Wirex Bitcoin Virtual Visa card to my PayPal account so I could buy Bitcoin just using my iPhone. Very CONVENIENT.

This reminds of the movie The Island, isn't it the same idea? Personally I wouldn't even consider this despite how cool it sounds (not only because immortality sounds awful to me to be honest), bitcoin has been involved with a lot of shady things -such as the deep web- and I wouldn't be surprised if this was another shady thing of theirs.

I have heard a little about the dark web. I guess with the anonymity factor of bitcoin people think they can get away with more things, which isn't exactly false. I just think people should be much more careful where they spread their bitcoin when it comes to this type of thing.
