Some attend evening mass or church service for Christmas because they believe what they will wish for will come true. They need to complete 9 days for the Catholic church while 3 days for some Protestant church. I know I can pray anywhere and anytime. When I was Catholic I love the last day of the mass because they will have a presentation and they will reenact the birth of Jesus in the manger.

The novena in preparation to celebrate Christmas more meaningfully is quite popular. The nine day devotion and listening to the Word of God explaining the aspects of incarnation puts the faithful in the right mood for Christmas.

I think , Jesus isn't that way . As long as you pray fervently and keeps doing good He will give your wish .

@averygirl72 That is true . But the priests said the people shouldn't be like that when they go to church ,

It's only a motivation so that people will attend the services.
