This is what greeted me a few mornings ago. I've just arrived into my new home - just a hop skip & a jump from Coal Mountain - (the Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman movie) and wow! The mountains don't give a spectacular sunrise/sunset daily like I experienced in SE Asia - but when those days do roll around - the depth of cloud color is just amazing. I wish I had a camera that could capture the "Van Gough richness of color". Gosh, I hope I spelled his name right! oh well - it's good to be back in the USA anyway!

@DianneN I've lived in a few countries - most recently Thailand & Cambodia - but have worked in Malaysia & South Korea as well. I wouldn't recommend working in the latter two & only cautiously recommend the former :) Glad to be safely home!

@SunnyShores Our son worked in Singapore for 6 weeks and spent a little time working and visiting Thailand. There is no place like home!

@DianneN very true - typically - US citizens don't view foreigners (whether tourists or workers) as potential fodder for their schemes. We have our troubles - but we are far more tolerant of differences than the cultures I experienced. I didn't visit Singapore -but a team mate did one vacation & she didn't return. She had the "bad luck" of meeting the wrong man. Two weeks later I quit that job & moved on!! And yes - it is very very good to be home!

The picture is pretty good but I'm sure the real thing was way better. This is the correct spelling: Vincent van Gogh.
