BEHIND THOSE DARK GLASSES.

Do you wear dark glasses for a specific reason? or do you simply like the way you look in them? It is said that : "The eyes are the window to the soul". Eyes can reveal a lot about a person - sadness, hate , joy, insecurity - sometimes one can tell what a person is thinking just by looking at that person's eyes. That is why some people feel less vulnerable or exposed when wearing dark glasses. They can be sad without anyone knowing, secretly gleeful, cover up puffy eyes - or just protection from the sun. Why do you wear dark or tinted glasses?

I wear dark sunglasses because my eyes are overly sensitive to the sun. If I don't, I sneeze. Also, my eye doctor told me that they prevent wrinkles and cataracts. Lol!

@Kandae11 I learned too late. I have a slow growing cataract in my right eye.

Great. I am only now learning that wearing dark glasses could protect our eyes from cataracts.

I don't, but probably should as I heard it helps with cataracts. I'm not used to wearing them because I have glasses already.

@Kandae11 I used to have those kind, called photograys here. But my insurance won't pay for them, so I just get what I can. This past year I didn't use the insurance, but found a discount place online for my glasses and only needed to get the exam. They've been very good for me.

Some time ago, I wore tested glasses which were light indoors but got darker in the sun.

For cry moment, it is definitely essential for the people to cover up their puffy eyes. I usually use it if walking under the sun and don't want to hurt my eyes due to sunlight flares.

Once I stared up at the sun and saw red flashes in front of my eyes. I won't try that again and I try to wear sunglasses whenever I am out and the sun is very hot.

although i live in a sunny country all my life, i never wore sunglasses (what we call 'shades' here). sometimes when i can't bear the heat and the glare, like in summer, i'll open an umbrella. it provides more coverage, too. i know it's useful if you're driving. i also know some wear it because they lack sleep and will try to nap while in public transportation. others wear it because they've been crying, or they're sick, or have sore eyes (red eyes from conjunctivitis). how about you? when do you wear sunglasses?

I always try to keep a pair with me in case I need them e.g. - a teary moment, something may get into my eye and leave it red, or too bright sunshine.

The dark glasses I wear are prescription sunglasses. Wearing them means that I can still read, even on a train with the sun shining in through the windows. I think pretty much anyone can look at least a little bit cool with the right dark glasses!

I don't wear them unless I'm driving on a very bright day. I think it's ridiculous when people wear dark glasses inside and I see that a lot in the store I work in. Who knows why?

I only wear dark glasses to help me see when the sun is bright, and usually only when I'm driving.
