DC Comics 2014 – spoiler alerts An epic scale Justice League Of America (JLA) story about an attempt to change future history. In the future a Borg-like alien race is assimilating everyone in its path in an ever expanding growing army. Superman has already fallen, and in this chapter The Flash, and Green Lantern will also be among the vanquished. In our own time, Batman realizes that the only way to stop this future menace is to go into its past and destroy it as it begins, but his time-travel trip throws him into the wrong time period where the destruction is already in progress. Intriguing in starting the story by showing that many heroes are already dead or turned into cyber-zombies, but it all feels rather flimsy and superficial while trying to be huge and complex. The defeat of the future menace already seems inevitable. The rest is just glossy action set pieces. Arthur Chappell
