"Cyberpsychology, Behaviour and Social Networking" is the name of a journal where you can read about the psychological and emotional problems people suffer from in a First World Country. Mood deterioration and depression caused by browsing Facebook and looking at pictures of all those "perfect happy families" celebrating the holiday season.
Seriously? Yeah. Seriously.
So in addition to facilitating the spread of fake news, Facebook is also to be blamed for causing the holiday blues, also referred as "Facebook lurking" which is where you force yourself to browse and view things that make you unhappy.
Darn you Zuckerberg!

I suppose if one is going through some tough times and then see some happy people on Facebook, it would be depressing for anyone who is already feeling depressed .. But we need to get real .. Those are just a facade .. I know a lot of people whose real life is depressing and yet all they show on social media is how awesome their life is ..

As for uploading family photos, I leave that up to my kids to post pics to their social media profiles. The only reason I have a picture of myself for my social media profile is because it was taken at my son's wedding, and my other son had it on his computer. I got a digital copy to upload to my computer. It was me and my husband but I cropped the picture because my husband won't allow me to share pictures of him. He doesn't like social media at all!

I haven't posted anything on Facebook in months. I just check what my friends are up to and that's it.

I think there is a valid point to this study. Many people go on Facebook seeking to assuage their loneliness or whatever by having all those Facebook friends but become more depressed over the realization Facebook is a false world. It's like the lonely person who has an intimate encounter seeking more than the act itself only to realize afterward you are still alone.

No doubt the study is spot on. Just hope the people who need to know are the ones reading about it. Hope they read it, understand, and react or act positively to uplift themselves. As opposed to doing something more “drastic”. Because feeling low, alone, and lonely, and feeding that feeling can make you think of doing some awful and terrible things. You follow me?
