The one thing that really makes me angry are plagiarists.

Please let me rant here a bit. I have had to deal with basic copy cat types since the very first year of writing articles on the internet and this kind of activity can bring down a good site. I will make it my main mission in the year 2017, starting today, to report anybody I find copying stuff and posting here at myLot. Let me give you some more advice: http://www.matthewfleming.com/blog/dont-get-caught-by-the-plagiarism-police

I think we all need to be more vigilant in 2017. It seems I have seen a huge uptick in the amount of plagiarized material lately. If we all pitch in to help self-police this site, we can ensure it's legitimacy and viability for years to come.

@lookatdesktop I always just used to ignore them. Now, I realize that by taking that approach I am essentially saying that I accept what they are doing. And that makes me just as guilty. So, I need to do my part in reporting them.

The sad thing is that it seems to be people from the same two or three countries that produced the glut of plagiarizers on the B-place. I report them when I find them. Moral of the story: don't follow me or write a four-word comment that makes no grammatical sense in English then post something that reads like a Ph.D dissertation.

I always report plagiarists here, it is the only kind of people able to make me angry at myLot. I had to deal a lot with them long ago when they were reproducing articles from a web site I had without giving any credit. Usually, they were removing them from their sites when I was sending an email threatening them.

It happens off and on. It's just the way things happen here and everywhere in social media. Cheap thrills for them, headaches for us. lol

People sometimes copy and paste Wikipedia articles and are surprised that someone reported them. They think it is their secret. What really makes me mad is when someone copies my post and spreads it all over every page. It happened on an old site called ChatAbout.

It happened on ChatAbout? Well, that figures. I think many writing sites and social media sites or both have sometimes eventually went under because they were getting bad CEO for it. It can really do a site in and that is why it is bad, because nobody wants to see a good site hurt by just a few bad apples.

@lookatdesktop We always reported those turkeys and the admins were pretty good about getting rid of them. It is still as annoying as all get out, though.

@lookatdesktop I've seen less of it here than on "the site that will not be named." But I did report someone just the other day.

Very nice! It is obvious to tell between some of the brilliant writers on here compared to the "writers" that seem to have a bit too eloquent of grammar and english in general. It is also good to try and do a search a sentence or two to see if another article has that same structure. I think we all need to bind together to get rid of the copycats.

I think that if a person wants to get the idea of other people, they must cite it. It is just a sign of respect. Plagiarism is also known as a crime. I have made a presentation about it this year and I will not forget it.

Bad enough that they do it but even more ridiculous when we consider how low the returns will be here for them. An original point of view always seems to draw more interaction.

I don't like them either.
