Favorite "Walk" Songs #3 - "Walking in My Shoes"

We're getting close. #3 in my Favorite "Walk" Songs series is a band that often shows up in my music countdowns, Depeche Mode, with "Walking in My Shoes." Easily the most successful electronic music act in history, Depeche Mode formed in Basildon, in Essex, England in 1980, and despite the loss of two key members, are still going strong. I got all of this while verifying some things on Wikipedia, but check this out: Depeche Mode has placed 50 songs on the UK Singles Chart, and every one of their studio albums has reached the UK Top 10. They have sold over 100 million records worldwide. Seemingly every electronic and darkwave act cites the band as a major influence. From their 1993 album, Songs of Faith and Devotion (simultaneously #1 in both the US and UK,) "Walking in My Shoes" was released as a single, and for the most part, performed admirably. It peaked at #14 in the UK. And although it stalled at #69 on the Billboard Hot 100, it reached #1 on that magazine's Modern Rock Tracks chart. And, it's one of my favorite Depeche Mode songs. So it's got that going for it as well.
