Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said on Tuesday during an interview with a sports talk show the team will not have their star linebacker Luke Kuechly play in the team's season finale versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday. Kuechly suffered a concussion injury during the Panthers Week 11 win over the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football. Kuechly has been cleared to play football by the doctors of the National Football League but since the Panthers are not in the playoff hunt they have decided to shut down Kuechly for the remainder of the current football season. The concern is about Kuechly having two concussions in the last two football seasons which led the Panthers to have their star linebacker prepare for the 2017 football season. It is called better to be safe than sorry.

Right call by the Panthers since the season is over as the playoffs are concerned.

At this point it doesn't matter and time to think about next season.

I'm glad they are letting him rest and heal. We lost Dan Morgan to early retirement due to too many concussions. I'm not sure if Michael Oher will play again as he missed most of the season to a concussion. Tre Boston is on ir with a knee injury. Its been a bad season for us and injuries.

I feel your pain. It was not the same without seeing your team with their smiles on their faces this year.
