Now that Carrie Fisher died, What do you think will happen to Star wars episode 9

It is sad that the Icon Carrie Fisher died, I know most people only know her as Princess Leia from Star wars but she is also a great director and writer. She is also a good person because of her charity works. Though she is gone, We will get to see her one last time in Star wars Episode 8 because she finished filming that movie in July. She is suppose to appear in Episode 9 but now she is gone, what do you think will happen. Do you think they will continue the script and recast her or will they find a way to write her off just like what they did to Paul Walker in Fast in the furious. Many fans are against recasting her because for them no one else can play Princess Leia. The footage I embedded is a video of her singing because people are not aware she can sing.
Carrie Fisher belts out a holiday song during 1978's only broadcast of the Star Wars Holiday Special.

@CaptAlbertWhisker It is because she has been part of our lives.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Debbie Reynolds and Tammy was part of my youth too. I saw the first episode of Star Wars when I took my daughters to the cinema.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I know from experience how heartbreaking is for a mother to have a son or daughter die first.

@TheInvisibleMan The starwars Midquel, Rouge 1, Uses CGI teenage Princess Leia, this have her approval because she wanted to be in every stars wars movie in some form.
These NEW images will hopefully give you a better look at the revolutionary CGI in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story! Music: Star Warts Epic Orchestra Part II

Hubby and I had many discussions on this!! (Why did I not see your posts . . . I lost many days during December I think!). So were we thinking of some possible replacements . . . and funny but there have already been articles written out there about our choices. We were thinking the singer Stevie Nicks . . . or maybe Linda Blair (yes, the Exorcist girl!).

@CaptAlbertWhisker I just saw she had 2 sisters, but they look nothing like her. Really - I had no idea Linda Blaire auditioned for it . . . but I know she had a very hard time getting roles after being the monster in a horror movie - everyone would remember that face. I wonder if Stevie Nicks could act though.

They can also use one of her sisters. It seemed like they wont be CGI'ng her. Speaking of Linda Blaire, I heard she auditioned for that role back in the 1970's. Stevie Nicks is like her long lost missing twin.

I have no idea. As for Paul Walker, they used one of his brothers who looked like him back then. Not sure if Joely or Tricia Fisher can fill in her shoes. I'm not sure if they can do CGI. Maybe they would have to do some rewriting in the script and say she passed away. It's up to JJ Abrams to figure that one out.

The idea of having her sisters inherit the role sounds honorable to me. They can also make Princess Leaia CGI and have her daughter dub the voice. Killing off the character might be too double tragic for the fans.I think they can also retire the character offscreen, like she is still alive but she does her things offscreen.

Obviously nothing is going to stop the franchise. They could do the Peter Cushing trick. I can't imagine recasting. Likely write the character out.

They already did a CGI of her teenage self together with Peter Cushing. So they might also do a CGI of her older self. They can make her daughter or one of her sisters, do the voice acting to honor her.
