What drives us to always want to win an argument to keep control?

I think there can be a lot of different motives but perhaps ego, pride and belief are the most common ones.

Sometimes its our ego and sometimes when we are sure that we are right..

yes, i guess so. but sometimes, we wanted to win an argument because we know we are right in what we are saying.
