Day 3 of rash

Ok getting pretty cranky now. I woke up this morning scratching behind my knee. I got up to look and sure enough more spots to deal with. This is getting rather irritating. How many days can someone be on benedryl before something goes wrong. The steroid is bad enough with the puffiness and uncontrollable eating. I wish my doctor was in town but have to wait because I am not going to another doctor that thinks I may have gotten into poison ivy... Seriously in Nebraska in December? Yeah no weeds this time of year. lol

It is possible to get poison ivy in December. If you have had contact with something, say your shoes, in the summer....put them away immediately after the contact....the oil will still be on the surface to give you the rash when you handle the contaminated shoes.

@Tricia53 I once had a very bad case of poison ivy with no explanation. Then we noticed that I seemed to have it where the dog made contact with my skin (licking my legs). We started to watch her very closely. She was eating poison ivy while we walked....then licking me. Mystery solved. Three weeks of prednisone before the rash disappeared. Three weeks of nev ending heartburn. Grr. And I'm one of those fortunate people who gets poison ivy over and over and over again.

@Morleyhunt You mentioned this and I got to thinking about it. I cleaned for my friend and threw a lot of things out not sure if he was always careful around weeds so it might have been on something in his house. I was also told by a gal that she gets it because of the same autoimmune thing I have so it could be that. I will probably never know for sure but this afternoon I noticed some in my mouth and I have to say cranky is my name lol
