The key to earning here is, basically, to forget about it and to concentrate on 'being social', give good quality responses and comments in other people's discussions which encourage them to comment back on yours and to post good quality discussions - always observing the Guidelines, of course - which will, hopefully, attract many responses to which you can reply. A discussion should be just like a conversation where you start a topic to which others respond and you reply, to which they reply in return and so on! You will soon find that there are certain people who tend to follow you around and respond regularly to your discussions and you to theirs. When this happens, you can 'follow' them (by going to their profile) and they may follow you, too.
What other people may earn here is not really a very good guide to what you may earn. The best guide is to watch your own daily earnings and to see what works and what does not. It's important to remember that MyLot doesn't pay you for what YOU do: it pays you according to the interaction you receive from OTHERS! It isn't possible to calculate how much MyLot pays 'per interaction' and, in any case, it may vary from time to time. I often find that, on days when I feel I've been very busy here, I make rather little and on days when I have hardly been here at all (though I may have posted a discussion), I make quite a few cents! I might call a 'good' day one in which I make more than 20 cents but others might consider this just average and many might call it exceptional!

@queenofcats There's really a quite small number of active users here. I believe that there are no more than about 500 people regularly posting but there may be rather more than that as 'silent sitters' (every forum has some of those).

Wow, thanks for the in-detail advice! I really like this website because it's more engaging than mind-numbing social media. I used to be addicted to Facebook because I was under the false guise I was being social. Here, I really feel social and it's extremely satisfying. :)

@owlwings why aren't there that many active users? I stumbled across this site searching for a question online and I loved the idea. I don't see why everyone wouldn't want to be social and get a minor reward from it. I seriously love forums and this site has such a friendly community

Just interact as much as possible. The more interaction you give whether it be on your own discussion or on others. Interaction is the key to earning here. Like someone posted in another comment here just forget about the earning and enjoy talking and having conversations with people and you'll earn money in no time.

from what I've learned in my day on here, just comment on stuff. The exact algorithm isn't posted but if you have conversations with people (longer threads), then you'll rack up a lot faster :) Welcome to myLot!!

Earning is very slow and takes a lot of time. Interacting with other people, reading and responding is at least as important as writing discussions of your own. The money is secondary to the interesting people we "meet" from around the world.

In total I have made $15 and I have been here a few months but I don't make a lot because I am not as active on here as I would like to be. I am very busy during the school year.

I earned $ 7.67 for a month and still trying to reach $10.00. The problem is that I have very bad internet connection and only spend about an hour a day. But I hope things are better.
