I finally finished all 3 season of "Under the Dome' - the CBS series based off the works by Stephen King. There may well be spoiler's so read at your own risk. I really enjoyed this series, but I thought there were places where it could have been better, much better. Season 1) A clear dome mysteriously slams itself around the tiny town of Chester's Mill. Season 1 introduces us to the following: "Big Jim" Rennie, Jim Rennie "Jr.", Dale "Barbie" Barbara, Julia Schumway, and Norrie, Angie, and Joe. (Teenagers). At first people deal with the trauma of the dome coming down - health and property damage. Then people experiment with ways to break or get around the dome. No such luck. The clear dome allows air and a small amount of water in but it is unbreakable and goes under as well as over the town. As food becomes short stocked - people start rioting and power struggles ensue. "Big Jim", a town "high up", and "Barbie" an ex-military bookie struggle for control. Meanwhile "Jr." has lost his mind and locked up his girlfriend, Angie. She gets loose and finds her brother, Joe - who has recently discovered a black egg with it's own mini dome around it. The mini dome speaks to the teens - "jr", Angie, Joe and Norrie. Season 2) Jr. and Big Jim go back and forth, their relationship was strained from the start. We are introduced to more characters and a mysterious path out of town. The path transports people to another nearby town called "Zenith". "Barbie" accidently discovers this and is transported out of the dome where some shady people from his past are waiting for him. He is in a hurry to return to Chester's Mill and the dome because his love interest, Julia is there. Julia has been chosen by the dome to be the town's leader and now we know that the dome has been sent by aliens to "protect" the town and people. The season ends with a portal opening and the dome shrinking - so people are encouraged to step through yet another portal and ... Season 3) Here's where things get weird. Were they writing this as it was being filmed? Anyway -- The town's people did go through the portal and experience life outside the dome, but things aren't adding up -- something is off. That's because the rescue is only an illusion. The townspeople are actually sucked into alien cocoons. Big Jim (trapped outside) and Julia (also trapped outside) free everyone, but it's too late. They have the alien consciousness inside them. A few defect and it is the few - against the many infected. The series ends when Joe sacrifices himself to bring down the dome with sound waves - the uninfected people are allowed to go free, the infected remain in government labs. Big Jim becomes a politician, Julia and Dale are about to get married, and Norrie has found Joe ... in the meantime the alien queen has been spotted out and about in the free world. So there were places they could've gone with it, but chose to end it after 3 seasons. I think season 1 was the best. There were a lot of interpersonal relationships that I skipped, they did well interweaving the town together and creating interesting characters and motives, but I do have some complaints. -- Characters didn't seem emotionally deep enough, not believable reactions, and season 3? Seriously? But still an enjoyable watch and something I would consider owning.... Anyone else here watch it? Photo: Mine

I watched season one and quit when season 2 was announced. Why drag on to the ultimately lame and disappointing finish to King's book.

Did you read the book? Seasons 2 and 3 got weirder and weirder, some redeeming moments, but still...

I missed the entire thing. But I cannot find it anywhere to watch now. It is not on Netflix or HuLu. I don't have Amazon prime and I don't pay for the CBS app either. Maybe they will come on some other time.

@FayeHazel See, I don't have that. I have been thinking about getting it though. I currently have Apple TV and I love it.

i watched first season , it just got too ridiculous for me. that is how i end up with most sci-fi just seems they start really good then end up messing it around to much. so i stop watching. gets too confusing for me. plus they usually add more and more characters and aliens . its just hard to remember who's who and what they do. maybe its just me. lol

I watched it some time ago. I was disappointed when I learned there will be no more. To many things left undone for my taste.

They could have continued one after season 3, though I did love "Big Jim" as a politician. Perfect casting

I agree that Season 1 was the best. I will a little disappointed in it after that. Once they knew that they were being cancelled after Season 3 then they didn't do much with the show.

@FayeHazel yes it did. I expected so much more from it but it just didn't get the ratings it was hoping for.

@FayeHazel Interesting, but I started watching other series better and I left that aside.

I haven't seen it, not sure I've heard of it, but it does sound familiar - the title that is. Sounds good. Season 3 sounds like they tried a Body Snatcher idea. So that season turns me off.

I've never seen it. I'm really not a big Steven King fan, although I have enjoyed a couple movies.
