No Daily 100 Today

I got a Twitter notification this morning while I was still lying in bed. It was from Zach saying he wasn't doing the Daily 100 exercise today. I immediately responded with, "Thank you. I can barely move today." He "liked" the comment but he probably didn't actually like it. I have been working hard at this exercise thing. I have fibromyalgia so chronic pain is always an issue. I have managed well most days with this exercise thing, but when something new comes along, like yesterday, I feel the after affects. I am in a great deal of pain today. So much so that I want to cry and feel very depressed. I am trying to better myself but I'm just making things worse. It doesn't help that hubby had told me a few weeks ago that I wasn't helping myself by not exercising. I have exercised off and on during the 20 years I have had this illness. EXERCISE does NOT cure fibromyalgia. Zach told me not to push it yesterday, to lower my goal but when it's called "The Daily 100" you kind of want to do 100 of each exercise. We only did 3 yesterday but two were new to me. I will never do another dip again!!! I had a shower, which helped, and set up my laptop in the basement. It's freaking freezing down there so I am back up in my bed. The girls have taken over the family room. Every time I walk into the kitchen I find another mess. Every time I walk by the laundry baskets they piles are higher. This is my life. I hate it. I'm supposed to be getting in shape, supposed to be working on my novel, supposed to be making this a better year.... but all I want to do is cry.

Baby steps. We set lofty goals and then kick ourselves when we don't achieve them. The laundry seems overwhelming....wash one Lias and sort the rest onto baskets. Suddenly it's not impossible. Celebrate doing one load. Don't worry if you only do ten repeats of an exercise. Do just ten today....set a goal to do ten in two days and if you can...make it eleven. Small victories and we don't need to feel like a failure.

I only do the laundry on weekends because the hydro is cheaper on weekends and holidays. It just reminds me that no one else does anything around here, that I am expected to do it all, that they take me for granted. They are all adults and they can well cleaned up after themselves. I have done lots of consistent walking on the treadmill only to be fighting off the pain for months on end. Exercise is not the answer for fibromyalgia.

@Morleyhunt No, I did that when the kids were younger. I would bring their laundry back up in their baskets and they would never empty them. This is the way that works best for me. It's really only because my daughter is home from university for Christmas vacation that the laundry is piling up. She goes back Sunday.

@patgalca so sort the laundry into baskets. One for each member of your family. Place the basket in their room. I too generally only do laundry on the weekends because of the hydro costs. The other time is in the evening after 7 PM when the lower rates are also in effect.

@patgalca I think you need to ask the other family members to help out in the chores. No need to do a lot of exercises either. But you can cry as much as you can.

Sometimes that stuff falls on deaf ears. The only helpful person is my younger daughter. She made dinner tonight, then baked cookies. I am constantly picking up wrappers and take-out coffee cups after my husband.

@patgalca I think you can place a waste bin and at least make your husband put those wrappers in them.

@silvermist You know what everybody's problem is when it comes to garbage? They don't know what is garbage and what is compost and what is recycle. So they just leave it to me to do. My daughter's boyfriend called out to me last night telling me that the garbage in the kitchen was full. I said, "You've got arms, don't you?" Needless to say, I took it out this morning. It was the compost.

Even then we should hope for the best to come without any disappointment. Hope You will do that.

Have a good cry, then make a resolution to work harder to achieve your goals in this brand new year. Isn't there a pain killer you can use for the pain?

Nothing strong enough for the pain I am experiencing today unless I went into the hospital and got a shot of morphine or something. And that would just make me loopy.
