The Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday have signed right handed relief pitcher Gavin Floyd, 33, to a minor league contract.
Floyd during the 2016 Major League Baseball season pitched in 28 games in relief for the American League East team with a record of two wins and four losses with an earned run average of 4.06.
Floyd was placed on the shelf for the remainder of the 2016 Major League Baseball season with a sprained shoulder capsule since June 25, 2016 when he complained of shoulder stiffness on his pitching arm.
A minor league contract will give Floyd a chance to make the Blue Jays as a relief pitcher if he is healthy and fully recovered from his right shoulder ailment.
If Floyd is able to pitch for the Blue Jays in the 2017 Major League Baseball season, he can be a very valuable player for the team.

If Floyd has recovered from his arm injury, he will make the team as a relief pitcher.
