Day 120 Proverbs 15:22 Proverbs 15:22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established. Whenever a person embarks on a new career, project, hobby, or course for their lives, they tend to seek advice on how to go about it. Sometimes that advice leads to further schooling, apprenticeships, or a group dedicated on what the person is doing so they will have a better idea how to proceed. Even marriage isn’t without counsel. As king, Solomon had many counselors or advisors to help with running the kingdom. He knew the value of wise counselors and he also knew that not having any counselors would not have worked in his favor or that of the kingdom. Today every country has cabinets or advisors to help run the country. Newly elected leaders seek out the best person to counsel them in the different areas of need. When you need help, you also seek out the best person for what you are doing. As Christians, our Counselor is the Holy Spirit. His purpose is to guide and teach us what we need to know from God’s Word. Mark 13:11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. (KJV) John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (KJV) The key to guidance by the Holy Spirit is remembering what you learned. Nothing can be brought to memory if you haven’t learned it. So then, the Holy Spirit becomes your teacher your counselor, helping you when you need it most to defeat Satan and all his wicked schemes against you. What do you need help with today? Seek the best counsel you can, keeping in mind the Holy Spirit is guiding you and teaching you as he leads you to the right person(s) you need. Let’s pray: Father, be my counselor and teacher when it comes to everything I do in my life. I cannot wander through this life without wise counsel to direct me. Let the Holy Spirit teach me what I need to know. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 6 January 2017 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

More people should let the holy spirit teach them the right way from the wrong way.

I also believe that the holy spirit teaches us. I would like to hear your thoughts on how you think the holy spirit teaches us?

@1hopefulman I mentioned that the Holy Spirit brings back to memory what we learned. I know for myself, when I need guidance for these posts, which is all the time, he brings thoughts and scriptures to mind. I used one scripture above. Another is: Luke 12:11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: 12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say. So, when we have a decisions to make, we can pray for wisdom, we can search the Scriptures for guidance and consult with mature Christians.
