Are you planning on buying a new desktop computer or laptop? If so, you must realize that by now all or most new PCs are windows 10. So, knowing this, you need to familiarize yourself with the differences between the older Windows 7 and Windows 8 or 8.1 home or pro versions that many people still use but will find themselves in the market for a new PC just because of the way the latest trends are headed for. Just look at this link and see for yourself so you can decide if Windows 10 will be right for you. There have been problems with some computers that ran Windows 7 or 8 before they were upgraded to Windows 10 due to some drivers in the older PCs not being completely compatible with Windows 10 as well as older software. To learn more so you can make an informed decision about going ahead with that new computer purchase with Windows 10 home or Pro versions. It's always better to be informed and plan ahead before going forward. I hope that whatever you decide you will be empowered by information first before making that leap from Windows 7 or 8 to Windows 10.

Yes, I noticed that since I downgraded back to Windows 7 Home Premium because I thought there were bugs in my system but it turned out that I had a defective SIM CHIP all along. causing several unwanted stop code blue screen messages that made my PC restart and prevented me from running several applications that nromally ran perfectly so I tried to do a Windows update for Windows 7 and so far there have been none and I was kind of wondering if Updates for Windows 7 have stopped altogether?

I don't plan to get win 10 anytime soon. win 10 uses more bandwidth and I don't need that happening.

I took the leap to Windows 10 when it first hit the market and, after overcoming the learning curve, have been satisfied.

@lookatdesktop I have a very interesting Windows experience every day at work. I use this laptop, which is a W-10, for most of my teaching chores. The school laptop on my audio/visual cart is a W-8.1. Two of my student desktops are W-7 and the third is Windows Vista. My last Windows XP machine gave up the ghost just before Christmas Break.

I lost my music maker jam app since I downgraded back to Windows 10 but the consolation prize is, I now have my Windows Media Center back!

I prefer Windows 7 and never have to go to Windows 10. I am happy where I am.

I would have done the same thing only I have to keep Windows 10 after downgrading to 7 twice in a year due to memory issues and blue screens mainly because I have invested much extra in the apps and add-ons to these apps that only work in the Windows 10 Operating System and just aren't available for users of Windows 7.

@lookatdesktop I hated when I had to upgrade to Windows 7 because that meant some of the things I used in the past was not compatible to windows 7. Since there is nothing saying I have to upgrade I prefer to stay with Windows 7. It gets very hard for me to upgrade because I need so many things on my menu to work with and to learn new things is getting harder and harder for me. I was working on a video and I could not get it right and I got stuck and I hate being stuck. All of a sudden Sunday I knew how I wanted to do it and so used Movie Maker because wanted to put it on youtube and figured it out myself until youtube wrote me and told me I am almost finished and till have to publish it and that is the problem. No matter what I tried I hit a snag. I will wait for my technician to come and help me out. I can still get to the link for people to watch it, so, if you want to see it I will message you with the link.

That's how Mr.Gates and Microsoft make their money, Windows Xp was a good os, in fact I think it's one of the best but they stopped supporting it or claim it has security issues.. When they want to sell you a new product it comes with a new operating system and sometimes there's no guarantee that it's not buggy or better than the previous one. It's all about business and money.

If someone gave me any windows laptop or computer I would install Linux and use that anyway. My hatred of Windows and Microsoft products is legendary.

All of our computers at work still operate on Windows 7. When I asked our IT guys why they haven't upgraded to newer versions of Windows, they all said that it was because there were too many problems with the newer versions of the software, and it wasn't worth the hassle of constantly trying to fix everybody's computers.
