Sometimes it feels good to pay bills.

I guess I should say, sometimes it feels good to be able to pay all of the bills! This Christmas I was very grateful to receive a money gift from my grandparents. Instead of gifts they decided to just give money to everyone and I was very thankful for it. I decided to use all of the money for bills. I still have a little bit left but as of right now I do not have to worry about bills for this month or the next month. I must say it feels so amazing to not be stressing over money right now. Do you feel good when you are able to pay your bills? Do you stress over money and bills?

I don't stress over bills as I have most of them paid by direct debit. I just have to make sure that there is enough in the account to pay them. That was very useful that your grandparents decided to give you money.

I have automatic bill pay through my bank, so I don't really ever have to worry about paying bills. So, between direct deposits of my paychecks, to automatic bill pays, I hardly ever see my money come in or go out. But, I will say, it does feel good to get a bill paid off, such as a car payment or credit card. I just finished paying off my truck this past Fall, and that felt amazing. With the truck paid off, I can now focus on paying off the last of my credit cards.

@Bellatricks My brother was in that same situation for the past few years, where he had to pretty much live off of his credit cards due to losing his jobs. I think he is still trying to dig himself out of that hole.

The only autopay that I have is for my cell phone because in doing that it saves me $5 a month. I don't really like autopay in general though because some companies will sneak fees and extra charges without you even knowing! This year I plan on paying off all of my debt. I honestly think I can do it this year so I'm actually getting excited about it.

@moffittjc So sorry to hear that. Yeah I actually had things under control and didn't even get into debt until the last couple of years when I lost my good paying job and had to pay rent and bills with my credit card! It wasn't the smartest thing to do but I had no other choice.

Since I've been working full time, we haven't had to worry so much about paying the bills. However, as last summer we did a bit too much spending, now I have some credit card debt to pay down, and that is stressing me out a bit. I want to get them all paid off and not have to worry over it anymore.

Yes, it'll feel good when things are paid off. That's my main goal this year, to get my debt paid off.

My missus stresses over our finances enough for the both of us. She didn't like the way I organized and paid the bills when we were first married and took it over. She does an excellent job and keeps things up to date and on time.

@Bellatricks If anything happened to my wife I'd be at a loss. She applies business accounting practices to our home finances and has things planned out so far ahead it would take me weeks to sort it all out.

@DWDavis That's very lucky for you but smart for the both of you that she plans way beforehand.

I used to take care of the fiances when I was married because he was never on top of things. I hope he was able to figure it out after we got divorced!

Yeah, it seems like it's an unavoidable thing and just something that happens in everyone's life.

Being able to pay bills is an amazing feeling! I remember so many times not being able to pay them and it did stress me out very much. I'm glad you were able to pay your bills and now you can breathe a little easier.

You bet it feels good! I get my pension on the first of the month, so on the 29th or 30th I'll sit down, do my checkbook (I have a spreadsheet that calculates it so I don't have to worry about adding wrong), and go online and schedule the payments. It takes about 15-20 minutes, and BOOM! the bills are done and I can get on with the entire month without worrying. (I also put a check-off list on the back of my checkbook spreadsheet so I mark the bills when I pay them. That way I don't forget...and yes, I have forgotten to pay a bill occasionally!)

Thankfully we are in a good situation and no worries about paying bills and we have very few..house is paid for, we pay cash for cars. Don't owe anyone a penny. We worked hard to get to this point.
