Cloning - a copycat?

I am very fond of my cat, Lucy. She is companionable, friendly, amiable and beautiful. She is like my shadow, following me around the house, sleeping beside me at night. She is about middle aged now so she should be around for a long time yet. I know I will never find another cat like her, unless I clone her. Ever since Dolly the cloned sheep was developed some people have chosen to clone their pets. It is a very expensive thing to do, but I know of at least one celebrity who is going to clone both of his dogs. Even if I could afford to clone Lucy I would not do so. Although the clone’s DNA is identical to its predecessor to me it would not be the same cat, just a look alike. A beloved pet is unique to its owner, a clone would somehow lessen its value. What do you think?

I think it is quite a popular one for cats. It sounds kind of cute and when they are kittens they are very Lucyish.
