Using a nasal spray now

So I am using a nasal spray now for my ear/nose as prescribed. It is called Fluticasone Propionate and I have to use it twice daily. Once in the morning and once at night. Well, my first dose was at the ER and they had me sit up when I did it and this last one I tilted my head back and did it. People say you can do it anyways you want as long as your comfortable with it. What do you think? Google gives me mixed reviews. I have to keep trying to pop my ear (even though it is popping on and off on its own) to keep trying to open the passage way of my middle ear drum. Any ideas? When I tilt my head back, I can feel it and it goes through my throat, too. I just hope to figure out a proper way asap and they clear up very soon.

I am not sure if I understood the problem very well, but I am unable to pop my ears using my nose so during flights when the ear pressure changes quickly, I feel discomfort. My solutions for relieving the pressure are two: yawning and swallowing. I hope it helps! :)

It does but plugs back up. My hearing is slowly coming back now.
