I still prefer to use a mouse instead of touchpad

Even I've been using a laptop for a long time, I'm still not comfortable using its touchpad. That's why I always connect a USB mouse to it. I feel like all my computer activities will be done slowly if I'll be using the touchpad. It may sound weird since most laptop users are comfortable using the touchpad. I don't know, maybe it's just me who doesn't. Or maybe I just didn't try long enough to be able to get used to it. I find the scrolling and dragging slow and clicking is too sensitive that I often do a click unintentionally. But I understand that it can be fixed by adjusting the settings. I know it's possible that I will also get comfortable using the touchpad but it will take a long time, especially if there's a mouse available. I don't know if it's just me but I always prefer to use a mouse instead of using the touchpad of a laptop.

I am a nature lover so I prefer to use a mouse. Seriously, I find it so so much faster and easier. Mouse for me!

I am mouse dependent as well. Though I get rid of one when I see it in the house.

I've always been a desktop user and so think I would do the same if I ever switched. On the bed though might need a book to rest my mouse on?

@bluelion I'm just really amazed how some seem to use the pad and with hand held devices type so well with only thumbs. I've tried but never stayed that long to get good with practice. My pc is on a desk for better or for...

@Bluedoll Maybe there are really people who can easily adapt to different things and there are also people who are not, like us. Haha. Why push ourselves to use complicated things, if there is something comfortable to use.

Maybe I'm stuck with the desktop mentality, that's why I'm still using the mouse right now. I've been using desktop for a long time as well. I seldom use my laptop in bed, I always have a table beside it, to place the laptop.

I can't use the touchpad either. I usually use a trackerball when I'm using my laptop, because it doesn't require the space that a mouse does.

I see. That's another device to use which I'm also not comfortable with. Good for you that you already used to it.

@bluelion I do prefer a mouse, but I can manage with a trackerball (as long as it isn't one where you use your thumb for the ball; I gave that one way).

@egdcltd I can now imagine it. Yes, I think I can also use that. It's almost similar to a regular mouse. You just need to scroll the ball instead of moving the mouse.

I also felt uncomfortable at first use of my MacAir so my daughter sent me an Apple mouse. Later, however, I began to learn to use the laptop's touchpad and became comfortable with it. Using the Mac mouse was awkward for me because it's heavier than the normal mouse. Now the mouse is kept in my drawer.

My laptop, which is now beyond all repair, was a mobile computer to me, Only then I used the touch pad. I always preferred a mouse.

I see. What's nice is you have already experienced using the touchpad, so either of the two, you can use well.

I am also not comfortable using my touchpad. I only use it when my mouse is not functioning properly.
