If a stranger asked for your bank account number

Will you allow strangers to know your bank details? Can they have access to your account just by knowing your bank account number? Many people are reluctant to let others know your bank account details. Someone or company like paypal asks for your bank detail if you want the payment is directly transferred to your bank account.

Of course we should give our account #, swift code and branch in order to receive payments/donations, the only details we must not give are the security codes or pin/password etc Like this FOUNDATION anyone worldwide can donate thru bank wires (telegraphic transfer) We can have more than one bank acct and keep the one as private (savings) and one (checking) acct for sending/receiving purposes only

Only account number is no problem, right? How can people send the money if they don't know the number. Yes, you are right.

@AkoPinay Everytime I accessed my email from a computer I have never used before, the email system always confirmed me via my phone number before it was finally accessed. This is a very good security system.

@yanzalong yesss have a separate bank accts for personal (savings) and for business (checking) transfer your money to savings acct after receipt thru checking acct. Better access your savings acct from a different device/computer that only you can access and a different device for surfing online to be more secure.

I don't think I will be giving mine at all. A lot of online scams have been happening right now and we really have to be very careful on how and who do we entrust this information. Though there are security questions, this can easily be bypassed by people who are known to be hackers. So be careful, always

Of course I will not tell a stranger my bank information, even if it is just the bank account number. Who knows what they will deal with it? I think if we are not greedy to gain money without any efforts, it is unlikely we will be cheated.

No, not at all. Never let them have my Bank Account number. I am always careful about receipts too that might have my number on it. No way am I going to show someone the Numbers in it.

Yes, PayPal did ask for that and they verified by also by asking for your credit card . Then they returned the 100 pesos they charged once they have verified your account to be true .

The bank account has to be used for its purpose, so I only give the details whom it may concern like the company I am working for to get my budget. But, of course, I don't give it to everyone.

just with the bank account number nothing can be done technically, but being on the safe side, I wouldn't share with a stranger
