The Los Angeles Chargers have hired former Buffalo Bills interim head coach Anthony Lynn to be their new head coach on Friday. Lynn succeeds Mike McCoy as the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers. McCoy was terminated as the head coach of the Chargers at the end of the 2016 football season. McCoy had coached the former San Diego Chargers for four seasons before he was terminated at the end of the 2016 football season. Lynn other than being an interim head coach with the Buffalo Bills after Rex Ryan was fired before the final game of the 2016 football season by the management of the Buffalo Bills has no previous head coaching experience in the National Football League.

This is a curious hire by the Los Angeles Chargers considering that Lynn has no prior full time coaching experience with a professional team.

I know what you mean since most of the head coaches hired this year have no previous head coaching experience which boggles my mind.

@Deepizzaguy not sure if the team executives are trying something new or looking for the cheapest talent available.

I remember when many football announcers kept saying Los Angeles Raiders instead of Oakland Raiders in the 1980s.
