Not everyone likes Geography. And these facts are not what you would find in a Geography book necessarily. It’s just a few FUN facts that might be of interest to you. I just heard recently that the largest McDonald’s Restaurant is in Beijing, China. Supposedly, it has two kitchens, 29 cash registers and seating for more than 700 people. How would you like to live in a country that smells like vanilla ice cream? All you have to do is move to Madagascar, which grows more than half of all the vanilla beans in the world. Here’s a disturbing fact I found out recently, although I’m not surprised, since I live in Virginia and I’m aware of the Civil War history. According to statistic experts, more American soldiers have been killed in the state of Virginia, than any other location in the world, because most of the American Civil War battles were fought in Virginia. You may already know this one: The tallest mountain in the world is NOT Mt. Everest. Measured from the sea floor, Hawaii’s Mauna Loa is the tallest mountain at 2,965 feet although most of it is underwater.
