After a day off to drive about 450 miles or so (to and from Nashville, then to the northern Kentucky suburbs of Cincinnati) I'm back to assault your senses with another one of my favorite songs with "day" in the title. And, after this song, you just might wish I'd stayed on the road. #3: Feelin' Stronger Every Day - Chicago Yeah, I know. And the funny thing is, I used to HATE this song. When I was in junior high school marching band we played this song while marching in the form of barbells. Spare me. As for the band Chicago, there are two camps: the people who love the Peter Cetera era, and the people who think Peter Cetera is a/an (insert the profanity of your choice here) for taking a great band and turning them into a smarmy MOR act. I tend to lean more toward the latter case. I've heard die-hard Chicago fans say the band died with Terry Kath (the guitarist who sang lead on "Colour My World") in 1978. I can see where they're coming from, especially given how songs that Cetera sang lead on went from this to "Hard to Say I'm Sorry." People won't forgive him for that. I'm more likely to hold a grudge for the way he's treated the band that made him a superstar (seriously, Peter, not playing with them at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction because you didn't like the key they wanted to sing "25 or 6 to 4" in????) and his attitude (he refused to let VH-1 use any song he wrote or co-wrote in the Behind the Music episode on Chicago). I put that out of my mind and enjoy this song for the great song it is. Feelin' Stronger Every Day Written by Peter Cetera and James Pankow Recorded by Chicago From Chicago VI, 1973 So now the time has come for both of us to live on the run:

It's one they still play because it doesn't bog you down in syrup the way Cetera's 80's songs did.

You can't go wrong with 70's era Chicago. 80's Chicago? Yuck! I wanted so badly to see the tour they did Earth, Wind, & Fire.
