Tilkut during Makar Sankranti in India.

Makar Sankranti in India is celebrated in the month of January every year. It is the festival of harvest of crops. The first crops are offered to the Gods. Tilkut, rewri and tilpatali are eaten as products of til, rice and gur.

Thanks ilocosboy yes when the crops are harvested the first sown crops are offered to God.

Yes I think the Tilkut is made in many parts of India- in many places in Northern India too.
