I bought a DSLR yesterday

I realized that our current camera is not good enough to take photos for our son when he had the concert performance. Besides, we are going to have a travel and it will be great to have a nice camera.
And this is why yesterday I bought a DSLR although it seems it is stupid to carry such a big thing outside today
But I really pay attention to the photo quality. Only this kind of camera can give you feelings of photography. I didn't buy the standard lens which is 18-55mm, I bought 18-140mm lens. Of course it is not the best yet, but it will be good enough for a personal usage.

Congratulations! It is my dream to have a DSLR as well because just like what you said, it is good for travelling. Maybe someday, I can purchase my own DSLR. At the moment, my priority is just to spend my money for my study. While we don't have yet a DSLR, our smart phone can be a good alternative for taking photos of wonderful places.

I have heard so much about a DSLR. Do post a picture or two once you have started using it.
I have a Sony DSC H50. Quite happy with it.

Of course I took some photos when I bought the DSLR as the checking. But those photos are meaningless. Perhaps in this weekend we can go out to take some photos. It has been rainy these days and therefore I didn't go out at night to check its night scene.

You seem to be a shutterbug and are good at photographing.For me, my smart phone is good enough to take a photo .Does your son perform frequently?

My son just performed in December 30th 2016 in his school. There will be some performances in this year. This is why I think it is better to have a good DSLR so that I can take photos for him easily when he has the performance You didn't know how frustrated I felt when I couldn't photoshoot him well last time. Fortunately other parents had good DSLR and occasionally my son was in the photos
