God versus Religion

I've been thinking a lot about God recently. Belonging to a nation where religion has often played a role in tearing people apart, I never considered myself to be particularly religious. My belief in God, however, is a different story. He has a huge part in where we come from, what we are doing, and where we are going to end up. But people argue that God can't ever really subsist in the absence of worship. Is that true?
Can't worship and religion exist independent of each other?

Religion is mankind's attempt to understand God. How are they doing??? Yes, they have a very long way to go.
Religion is also a catalyst which brings so many of mankind's problems to the surface so they can be addressed. After all, when one thinks they have God's backing, they will justify anything.
God and religion are two separate things. In Reality, God is Unconditional Love. Unconditional Love always does what is best for the other which is actually what this world is all about. God does not require worship. If it fulfills an emotional need with you, feel free, however it serves no other purpose.
Need some advice???
Be who you must! It's a part of the plan!
