Anyone Write For Or Tried CreateSpace?

I have never heard of that one and I guess it is self publishing as in a Book or something mostly via Amazon. They say they pay you 70% of whatever they are selling your book for. It does sound interesting as this does sound like these are hard back books people can actually buy. It would be cool to actually know there are books out there with my name as I have always wanted to be a published author. But is this worth my time looking more into, or are there better ways someone else on here can suggest?

I have published 4 books on CreateSpace and am working on 2 more. CreateSpace is the print version option for publishing books through Amazon. The royalty percentage on print books is only about 30-40%. The 70% royalty is on eBooks published through Amazons KDP, or Kindle Direct Publishing subsidiary.

So which do you prefer using? Is one book form and one only Kindle?

@KrauseHome I use both. I publish in both paperback and eBook version.

Although I haven't used it personally as yet, I do have an account. I have published Kindle ebooks, but not through CreateSpace as yet. I do know of people who have used it, and it seems its useful, especially if you want your Kindle book to also be available in print on demand.

This print on demand concept is quite interesting. I actually have been hearing a lot about it lately, and researching some more on it as we speak.

@KrauseHome Although I haven't had print on demand from Amazon, I have had it through another company (OneBookShelf) and the quality was higher than I used from printed books in the 80s and 90s. The price was higher, too, because they were only printing one copy at a time.

There is nothing wrong in trying to be a published writer. But, one should be quite sound in analyzing the topic and the subtopic with catchy words and good writing skill. What Amazon is offering is not a bad offer. One can make a plunge into the offer.

Not yet. I read about it as it seems many authors already use it, but I haven't tried it yet.
