Even men of the strongest valor and conviction can be tempted into sin. For those brave enough and who can dedicate their life to a cause, the Knights Templar would welcome you with open arms if you could swing a sword, kill in the name of your lord and remain humble in your actions.
What was the purpose of the Knights Templar? Trying to get a straight and accurate answer is best left up to the individual and taken with a pinch of salt. Were they nothing more than a fable attached to King Solomon's Temple who guarded the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments as well as the Arc of the Covenant? Where they holy warriors or mercenaries that fought for morality and religious observation?
There is no denying that all of the Knights Templar were deeply rooted in Christianity however they did not harbor ill will towards those who followed a different spiritual path. There are numerous songs and hymns written by the knights or for them. Most of them are sung in Latin with one of the most beautiful being “Salve Regina” however if you prefer something to meditate to, most of the songs can be found in chant form.
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy
Our life, our sweetness and our hope
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve
To thee do we send up our sighs
Mourning and weeping in this valley of tears
There are many different orders within the brotherhood depending on your homeland. While they all have a variation of a Christian cross, there are some that are symmetrical and others that could be mistaken for a "Satanic” symbol.

There are so many secretive things about the Freemasons - like their signet being buried in the cornerstone of the White House and the different ranks of members. Normally history doesn't interest me but there are things like the holocaust, medieval times, vikings and medical oddities that fascinate me.

@freak369 You might like the book "With Dungeon, Fire and Sword." That's the title that explores the links between the Templars and the Masons. I was a member of Eastern Star for a number of years, the women's auxilliary to the Masons, but now they will accept women into the Masons (finally!)

I always love the story and the history of the Knights Templar. So many controversy and speculation about the Knights Templar. Why's that so?
